THE BARS OF LYNN

Night of 23 August 1986

25 The Golden Circle

Here's a fun place. Here is where we encountered our first incident with bar management (and lost) !

When we first came into the dark and sparsely populated bar-room, we had'nt noticed the dart board opposite to our seats.

We promptly, upon noticing the opportunity, asked the barmaid if we could play. Upon receiving a positive response, we proceeded to fumble and bumble around looking only to light up our playing target. And just as we discovered the "right switch", a gentleman and a lady approached us (obviously, the owners of the establishment). The conversation went like this:

THEM: "You can't play darts."

US : "Sure we can, just watch.....Why not?"

THEM: "Uh, we don't play darts here."

US : "Then why do you have a dart board?"

THEM: "Well, uh, uh, we don't play at night."

US : "Then why do you have lights on the board? Winter Games, I
suppose."

End of conversation.

Distraught, the two frustrated would-be dartsmen drained their beers and stormed out.
